A year ago today in my iphoto library.
Cheese carvings at a food show I worked in Grand Rapids Michigan.  My company has been working with Sarah the cheese carving lady for over 10 years.  She made these masterpieces out of 40 pound blocks of cheddar, with some provolone thrown in for color.
I met Sarah 12 years ago at the same location for the food show the day before to help set up.  I was working for my father for just the show at that time and Sarah needed help shaving down the 40 pound block to start.  What no one knew was I had taken some blotter acid earlier and found myself shaving melting cheese off the block.  A surreal experience to say the least.

My friends Mike and Ruthie got married almost a month ago.  Mike I have known for over 20 years and we have spent hours listening to and discussing Weird Al.  So it was no surprise when he told me that Ruthie loved him too.  They went as far as to invite Al to their wedding in Linden, Mi.  I had a good laugh when “Eat It” played as they walked down to cut their cake.  A beautiful Misfits cake, Mike’s favorite band and one of mine as well, made by our other long time friend Chad’s wife.

So when visiting Liezl in LA earlier this year we were fortunate to attend the second “Is This Thing On” art show.  Weird Al being the comedian muse this year I stared in awe of the many prints and original one of a kind masterpieces.  I knew Mike and Ruthie would have to have one of these beauties.

Nerd Love, I am for it, and will vote accordingly in November.
